“Forward thinking” is how one vendor describes Tech Data. It’s a reflection of the investment and consistent execution the distributor has made on behalf of its vendors and solution providers as it looks past the contemporary economic challenges and what is needed for success in the future.
Over the past year, Tech Data had distinguished itself by providing leadership and enablement for solution providers in technologies, verticals and emerging market opportunities. It opened business units and solution centers for health care, network security, physical security and unified communications. It was the first distributor to launch a program to help solution providers engage in Cisco’s new unified computing system strategy. And it expanded its support and services around digital signage. Tech Data opened a second integration center on the West Coast, providing solution providers with easier access to technical and product certification resources.
In support services, Tech Data launched and expanded an impressive array of business and technology enablement services for its solution providers. Its new SMARTattach makes it easier for solution providers to order products and complementary services as a bundled SKU. And its free MyLeadTracker tool gives solution providers a resource for monitoring warranty, license and maintenance contract renewals. Plus, it established Economic Stimulus Watch, a service that provides solution providers with intelligence on government stimulus spending opportunities.
The programs and initiatives launched by Tech Data over the past year are a reflection of the progressive thinking of the distributor’s leadership and operations teams. Solution providers and vendors alike tell Channel Insider that Tech Data is superior in consistent execution of its service agreements, operational programs and future vision.
