Customers are floundering with PCI compliance mandates, but that's where the channel can step in. Savvy solution providers can cut through the complexity to help prioritize projects for customers and make money by focusing on the following seven areas.

Data Loss Prevention
Much like DAM, data loss prevention (DLP) tools may not be an ideal solution for customers seeking to simply achieve that rubber-stamp from a PCI assessor and then be done with it for the time being.  But these tools can pack some serious security punch for organizations who are more concerned with tying meaningful protection upgrades to their compliance projects.

DLP offers customers a deep analytical dive into the who, what, when, where and how of data movement across IT resources. At the moment, just 38 percent of best-in-class organizations utilize DLP to comply with PCI and only 16 percent of laggards do the same.

But those numbers are looking to move up very shortly, according to analysts with IDC. The firm released survey results in October 2009 that showed that more than half of organizations plan to spend money on a DLP project in the near future. Channel partners who can make themselves available to lead these projects stand to experience a very positive upside.
