For some folks, a nasty divorce can be a worse ordeal than being trapped in a room full of feral ferrets. But if a new survey out from Websense is to be believed, many IT professionals would rate huge life changes like divorce, car accidents or moving homes over the pressure piled on by data protection duties. The survey polled over 1,000 IT managers from the US, Canada, the UK and Australia. We take a peek at the US respondents' answers.

10 percent of IT pros say that divorce or separation would be less stressful than being responsible for company's confidential information.
29 percent of those surveyed said a minor car accident would be easier than being pinned down for corporate security issues.
27 percent say that moving homes would present less strain than day-to-day security responsibilities.
20 percent of people say that getting married is less stressful than protecting company data.
13 percent believe that they would be less stressed out if they lost their job than if they kept it and had to keep charge of company data.
18 percent rated the start of a new job as less stressful than protecting company data.
The stress piled on likely comes from a lot more scrutiny coming from the executive suite. 35 percent of respondents said that public breaches of late have caused their CEO to become involved after having no involvement in the past.
And among the respondents, 61 percent said they were concerned that an advanced persistent threat could compromise their organization's security.
