Through the Government Source program, ScanSource resellers have access to education and training programs to help them become more learned on the many rules related to selling into the public sector, the players in these key markets, as well as avenues for finding and competing for the available opportunities.
"The terminology and contracting mechanisms are very different from the commercial environment, so educating resellers on this for state and local government is very important," explained Jeff Yeltson, president, ScanSource POS & Barcoding, in Greenville, S.C. "For instance, in some cases resellers have to be certified to bid on an opportunity before they can participate in the procurement process and not everyone can be certified.
