The convergence of physical and logical security isn't a new idea, but largely untapped by solution providers. Groups like 1nService and PSA Security are bringing these largely segmented channels together for this $7 billion market opportunity.
Optimal Access, developer of advanced desktop personalization software, announced two major distribution deals this week.
Optimal Access struck a pre-paid bundling deal with Acer Tablet PCs to include its Optimal Desktop on PCs distributed through PC Connection. Optimal Desktop is a tabbed interface that records Web site passwords and lets users organize access to favorite destinations.
In a separate deal, TigerDirect will market Optimal Access' Mobile Desktop which lets users move their desktop environment to USB flash drives and other popular removable drives.
"TigerDirect is currently selling a large number of USB memory drives each month and Mobile Desktop is a natural companion for any removable drive adding valuable functionality to these drives," said Karan Bavandi, CEO of Optimal Access Inc.
