    Overlooked by some, commerce-enabling applications offer a rapidly growing sales opportunities for solution providers. Vendors such as Hewlett-Packard and IBM are releasing fully integrated point-of-sales solutions that link transactions directly to inventory and supply chain management, as well as business analytics applications. Specialty distributors are building prepackaged, best-of-breed POS solutions as well. But POS and commerce applications go beyond the physical retail opportunity; solution providers are increasingly finding work designing, building and maintaining online e-commerce portals that tie into existing backend business intelligence infrastructures.
