SAP's Donna Troy will resign her post as head of the software maker's global channel program, company sources revealed Jan. 29.

Troy, executive vice president of global SME (small and midsize enterprise) indirect channels, will leave the company soon, following a restructuring of SAP's channel and sales groups that brought her team and position under Hans-Peter Klaey, president of Global SME Business.

Troy will be succeeded by Terrance Scerri, her deputy since May.

In November, SAP installed Klaey to coordinate direct and indirect sales in the SME at the global level, part of a hybrid and collaborative channel initiative launched in January 2006. Prior to Klaey, channel and direct sales chiefs reported to joint sales executives in their regions, but sat in separate silos at the global level.

U.S. channel executives are staying put, SAP said. Michael Sotnick, senior vice president for SME of SAP Americas, continues to report to both Scerri and Rodney Selligman, senior vice president and chief operating officer of SAP Americas' Territory Sales Organization.

Prior to SAP, Scerri was vice president of (SME) sales and marketing for Hewlett-Packard in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
