Cisco, in conjunction with British Telecom and Atos, a global IT services provider, is building one of the largest networks ever constructed for a London Olympic event that only occurs for 17 days. Here's what went into its construction.

A Need for Speed

The network will be transmitting 60 Gb/sec – the equivalent of 60 000 novels or the entire content of Wikipedia every 0.5 seconds.
