While we only looked at two cards here, they are representative of what is currently available on the market. For solution providers, there is definitely an opportunity to start offering digital TV capabilities for PCs; the only caveat is that solution providers and system builders may want to stick with 32-bit versions of Vista to make sure that the solutions work without any glitches. Perhaps the biggest opportunity at the moment is for the back-to-school market, where students in college dorms will be most appreciative of having access to a digital television solution before the February change. What's more, broadcasters and the FCC will start cranking up their warnings and recommendations about the impact of digital TV in the coming months. That can only help any marketing efforts by system builders to create an add-on market opportunity for digital TV tuners for PCs.
