    HP Offers Private Cloud Solution for Oracle Applications

    HP has introduced a private cloud solution based on the HP Converged Infrastructure and customized for Oracle applications. The solution is likely to go head-to-head with Oracle's newly announced Exalogic Cloud in a Box.

    Looking to shorten and simplify the deployment process, HP is rolling out integrated private cloud solutions customized for Oracle applications. HP said that HP Private Cloud Solutions for Oracle Applications are engineered to support complex, multi-tiered environments.

    HP's new private cloud solutions for Oracle applications are likely to go up directly against Oracle's newly announced Exalogic Cloud in a Box, announced at Oracle OpenWorld.

    HP’s new solution is based on the HP BladeSystem Matrix together with HP Cloud Service Automation software and HP StorageWorks data services. It offers one-touch application provisioning and a self service portal for delivering Oracle application services on-demand, HP said.

    HP said the solutions will be available worldwide from HP and its channel partner network. HP Private Cloud Solution for PeopleSoft, priced at under $700,000, will be available in October and the Oracle e-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Infrastructure solutions will be available by the end of the year.

    The HP hardware and software offerings ship together from HP Factory Express and are optimized for PeopleSoft Enterprise, Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Middleware. They are based on HP Converged Infrastructure. The system offers a common management environment for server, storage and networking infrastructure, as well as automated deployment, monitoring and compliance of Oracle applications.

    HP said that its Cloud Maps, customized for Oracle applications and imported directly into HP BladeSystem Matrix, allows clients can rapidly populate data and build a catalog of application services for the business.

    In addition, HP Cloud Consulting Services can provide the expertise needed for clients to transform their existing delivery approaches into more efficient shared-services models, including discovery, design and implementation, HP said in a statement.
