SAP StreamWork is now available on the Google Apps Marketplace, opening up SAP's potential market to millions more through the cloud-based offering.

Even as cloud-based upstart CRM rival Salesforce.com holds its Dreamforce conference this week in San Francisco, ERP stalwart SAP is making its own news in the cloud with giant Google.

SAP and Google have announced that SAP StreamWork is now available in the Google Apps Marketplace. SAP Streamwork will work with OpenID, letting users login with their Google Apps login and navigate to it through the Google universal navigation bar, and more integration is promised for early 2011.

"SAP StreamWork brings together people and information - from the web, your desktop, or business systems - and applies structure to discussions with business tools including pro/con tables, SWOT analyses, and polls to drive fast, meaningful results," wrote David Meyer on the Official Google Enterprise Blog. Meyer is senior vice president for On-Demand, Productivity and Sustainability Solutions at SAP.

"Think about how easy it can be to allocate resources, prioritize sales leads, or define new marketing campaigns in a single, well-organized location. With Google Apps integration, the SAP StreamWork environment will be joined with the tools you are already familiar with in the cloud."

Plus, SAP can reach out to new constituencies of customers, according to Meyer.

"In joining the Google Apps Marketplace, we see a great opportunity to reach over 3 million Google Apps businesses who have already embraced the cloud and we invite them to try out SAP StreamWork," he wrote.
