Will 2011 bring a raise in pay for IT pros? The HR experts at Robert Half Technology say yes. A new report, the Robert Half Technology Salary Guide 2011, predicts modest gains for next year's IT salaries. The report provides an in-depth prognostication on a number of IT segments and their compensation. What will it be worth to you? The report found that on average organizations will pay their IT professionals 3.4 percent more in 2011, with larger gains in base compensation for high-demand specialties such as web development, data security and enterprise resource planning (ERP). Web designers will experience the largest salary increases of any job classification, with an expected gain of 5.5 percent that will bring their average salary to between $50,750 and $83,000 annually.
Base compensation for ERP technical developers who tailor ERP software for a specific organization is projected to increase 5.2 percent next year, to a range of $79,250 to $109,500.
Pre-sales engineers and technical engineers will also see a 5.2 percent bump in pay, up to $69,000 to $97,500.
Consultancies should expect to pay 3.3 percent more for practice managers, who will receive between $98,500 to $135,000 in 2011.
Average starting salaries for business intelligence analysts will rise 5 percent, to the range of $82,500 to $116,250 annually.
Data modelers can expect base compensation in the range of $80,750 to $111,250, a gain of 4.5 percent over 2010.
Network managers will see average starting salaries rise 4.3 percent, to the range of $79,250 to $109,500 per year.
Base compensation for IT auditors will increase 4.2 percent, with starting salaries of $77,750 to $108,000 annually, on average.
Network Architects are expected to have the highest base salary average among non-executive/management positions within the IT realm, ranging from $90,000 to $129,250.
The report showed that 51 percent of CIOs still believe it is difficult to find skilled IT professionals.
